Create a group
As the needs of organisations vary, we offer several Presentation Skills Training Programs that can be tailored to suit your specific needs.
First-Step Program
Our First-Step Program is the perfect entry for anyone to begin learning the essentials of presenting well. Even experienced presenters who have never been formally trained can benefit from coming back to basics and being refreshed on some of the golden rules. This is our most popular training program and the one that is used as the basis for our public workshops. Content includes:
- What Makes a Good Presenter
- The Spruikit MAP
- Researching and Writing for a Presentation
- How You Sound
- The Spoken Spruikit Word
- Harnessing Nerves
- How You Look
- Visual Aids
- At the Venue
- Handling Questions
- ... and more, including up to five fun exercises to put theory into practice
The First-Step Program is usually delivered as a full day workshop (for 10-12 participants) however we can also deliver it over other timeframes to suit the needs of your group. The program is interleaved with practical exercises to bring hands-on learning to most of the topics covered.
Next-Step Program
For those who have the need to further improve their presenting ability, we offer a Next-Step Program.
The Next-Step Program is always tailor-made to the unique needs of your group, and over a timeframe that fits with the objectives involved. It is usually delivered as an immediate follow-on to our First-Step Program where participants have already learnt the fundamentals.
The Spruikit Next-Step Program focusses on specific areas needing further development and improvement, e.g. voice, writing, nerves, and/or handling questions.
Practice-Makes-Perfect Program
For those who wish to simply practice their presentation delivery skills in a friendly non-threatening environment, the Practice-Makes-Perfect Program is the ideal forum where they will receive expert constructive feedback from both our facilitators and their peers.
Ideally, participants should have already attended a Spruikit Presentation Skills Training Workshop (at least the First-Step Program) where they have learnt the essentials of presenting well, or be experienced in giving presentations. Participants will be asked to prepare and bring with them a 5 to 10 minute presentation for the practice session.
The Practice-Makes-Perfect Program is usually about 3 hours depending on the number of participants.
Your facilitators
Spruikit Presentation Skills Training is unique in that, depending on the size of the group, we have up to three facilitators available.
Two facilitators usually lead our programs; one with a corporate/government background and the other from the media. They are David Thomas, Kelly Nestor, and Marianne Van Dorslar. Each offers a different perspective on presenting styles which greatly enhances the learning experience.
In addition, one of our Voice Coaches, Jenny Kent or Helen Tiller, can attend as a guest facilitator to lead the 'How you Sound' segment of our training.
Support when you need it
The Spruikit Lifeline (access to complimentary telephone/email support from our workshop facilitators for twelve months from the coaching date) is available to all Spruikit Presentation Skills Private Workshop participants.
